General Monitors 4000 Series Gas Detectors Discontinuation Notice
13/02/2020
  • Fixed Gas & Flame Detection Fixed Gas & Flame Detection
The General Monitors S4000 Series of Gas Detectors and its derivative products will be discontinued effective December 31st, 2020. The S5000 Gas Detector Series will serve as a direct replacement.

As a result of the successful launch of the General Monitors S5000 Gas Detector, the S4000CH, S4000TH, IR4000S and its derivative products (S4100C, S4100T) will be discontinued effective December 31st, 2020.

The S5000 Gas Monitor launched in June 2017, with several technological advances that increase safety while reducing total cost of ownership. The S5000 was designed and intended to eventually phase out the S4000 Series, as it mounts in the exact physical location with ease.  The conduit entries, standoffs, and mounting bolts are in the same location, and it can be installed using existing cabling.

Support of the S4000 Series will continue for at least 5 years after discontinuation.
