With the stabilization of the ULTIMA^® X5000 production levels, it is again time to announce the phase-out of the ULTIMA X gas detector. This includes the ULTIMA XP, GP, XA, and Trigard detectors. MSA will accept new ULTIMA X orders until March 15, 2023. Spare parts and sensors will be offered for at least 5 years.

The ULTIMA X5000 is designed as a direct replacement for the ULTIMA X. It mounts in the exact physical location of an ULTIMA X, the conduit entries, standoffs, and mounting bolts are in the exact same location, and can be installed using existing cabling.

MSA will continue to offer the two-wire version of the ULTIMA X
 and the ULTIMA X3 as our gas detection solution for users of two-wire toxic gas detectors or Modbus-based systems respectively.
