On June 14th, 2014, MSA celebrated it's 100th year protecting workers. It all began based on a noble premise...a company solely dedicated to protecting workers so that men and women could work in safety.
After witnessing atrocities as mining engineers with the United States Bureau of Mines, John T. Ryan and George H. Deike shared the same determined desire to better protect miners by defining safe practices, providing proper protective gear and developing dependable rescue equipment. So on June 14, 1914, the two men shook hands and set forth with Mine Safety Appliances Company.
Today, MSA Safety, Inc. has grown into a worldwide organization serving workers in over 120 countries. But since our inception, the original vision of our founders has never wavered. Today, we still develop the finest equipment for personal safety and industrial monitoring available anywhere. Our more than 5,300 associates are dedicated to delivering products that not only protect workers, but save lives.
