Did you know noise induced hearing loss is one of the most common occupational illnesses?

It has been prHearing application imageoven that workers who are exposed to continuous noise without proper hearing protection devices are likely to experience permanent hearing loss.  The hearing loss is progressive and eventually destroys the sensory cells in the inner ear and cannot be restored.

Typically, the worker will not experience symptoms or pain which is the primary reason this important safety protection is often overlooked.  Unfortunately, the hearing loss only becomes noticeable once it is too late to reverse the effects of the damage, leaving permanent hearing impairment.

Fortunately, hearing loss can easily be avoided. MSA offers a full line of hearing protection products to suit your specific needs:

When visiting a worksite, be sure that you are equipped with adequate hearing protection and observe the surrounding workers to ensure they, too, are properly equipped with the necessary protective devices.
