MSA's Chillgard RT Refrigerant Monitor meets the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements detailed in Section 608 of the Clean Air Act (CAA): Stationary Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.  The EPA has issued regulations under the CAA to minimize the emission of refrigerants by maximizing the recovery and recycling of such substances during the service, repair, or disposal of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

The CAA defines EPA’s responsibilities for protecting and improving the nation’s air quality and the stratospheric ozone layer.  Section 608 establishes the "National Recycling and Emission Reduction Program."
