About the article: Since it was issued in 1993, OSHA's Confined Space Regulation 29 CFR 1910.146 has been centered on general industry workers versus construction workers. As of August 3, 2015, OSHA developed 29 CFR Subpart AA 1926.1200 to clearly define confined space rules for the construction industry. This article discusses confined space versus PRCS (permit-required confined space), common hazards, the similarities and differences between the standards, and provides employer's action steps moving forward.
