The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) announced that the 2018 edition of NFPA-1971, Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting, was confirmed by the Standards Council on August 1, 2017.  The effective date of the standard will be August 21, 2017.

Manufacturers may ship products certified to the 2013 edition through August, 2018.  MSA is currently working towards attaining 2018 certification for Cairns® Fire Helmets.  As we begin receiving certification, we will announce them via ADVISOR and will ensure updated certification letters are uploaded to the appropriate product pages on www.MSAsafety.com.
