Hurricane Florence Status Update: MSA's Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina
9/18/2018
  • General/Company Information General/Company Information
MSA's manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina has sustained damage from Hurricane Florence and remains shut-down as of today. Assessments are currently being made to determine the extent of the damage and when production will resume. MSA will continue to communicate information as it becomes available.

MSA's facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina was within the strike zone of Hurricane Florence as it made landfall late last week.  MSA's Jacksonville facility manufactures Fire Helmets and Air Purifying Respirators, as well as key components of our Fall Protection and Supplied Air Respirators.

The factory and adjacent warehouse sustained damage as the storm passed through the region.  The local flooding in the area is also taking its toll on infrastructure, as many local roads and highways have been closed; however, as of earlier today, power has been restored.  MSA's top priority is the safety of our associates as they deal with personal damage from the storm at their home.

Available MSA staff, in conjunction with local authorities, are making daily assessments to determine when we can resume production.  The length of our shut-down depends on the damage assessments once completed.  We will communicate this information as it becomes available.  In the interim, customers may receive notifications of adjusted delivery dates for products that are produced or include components from this facility.  We ask for your patience as we attempt to manage this situation.

As always, we appreciate your business and thank you in advance for your understanding as we work through the effects of Hurricane Florence.
