Discontinuation Notice: Service and Support on Select Portable Instruments

  • Portable Gas Detection Portable Gas Detection
Please note the service and support discontinuation reminders/updates for four products within MSA's portable gas detection line.

This notice serves as an update and reminder of the recent or upcoming service and support discontinuations within the portable gas detection product line.  Please note the following affected products listed below with applicable dates and replacements.  

ALTAIR® ProSingle-Gas Detector

  • CO, H2S, NO2, Cl2 service and support ceased as of March 31, 2018 and NH3 service & support ceased September 30, 2018.
  • The replacement platform, ALTAIR 2X Gas Detector, which features XCell® sensor technology, rugged durability, and minimal cost of ownership continues to remain available for your single gas and two-tox sensing needs.

 Solaris MSHA

  • Effective December 31, 2018, all service and support for the Solaris MSHA Multigas Detector will be discontinued.
  • The replacement product, ALTAIR 4X Mining Multigas Detector, which provides unmatched durability and industry leading XCell Sensors continues to remain available for you gas detection needs.

 GALAXY® Automated Test System

  • Effective December 31, 2018, all support and support for the GALAXY Automated Test System will be discontinued.
  • The replacement product, GALAXY® GX2 Automated Test System continues to remain available

 ALTAIR 5X W-USB

  • Effective September 30, 2018, all support and support for ALTAIR 5X W-USB ceased.
