MSA now offers a thicker crown pad option for the 1010/1044 Traditional Fire Helmets to provide an increase in ride height and improvement in comfort for firefighters.

In late 2015, MSA launched a new impact cap for the 1010/1044 Traditional Fire Helmets.  The new impact cap allowed for larger heads, vertical adjustment of nape strap location, and the easy addition of an integrated Defender Visor.

As a result of the increase in allowable head volume, some firefighters with small to medium heads reported that the helmet rode lower than what they were used to.  MSA is now offering a thicker crown pad to alleviate this issue.  The new crown pad was field tested across several departments and was found to provide an increase in ride height and improvement in comfort for firefighters who may need it.

The crown pad is available as a single packaged replacement part (P/N 10201581) or a 5-pack* (P/N 10201582).

*The 5-pack option offers significant savings over a single pack purchase.
