New tech note explains the differences between these loop power sources.

Some Distributed Control System (DCS) manufacturers specify sinking or sourcing analog input cards on their control systems. This results in all instruments connected to the control system (flame and gas detection included) needing to be sinking or sourcing analog devices, respectively. When connecting various current inputs and outputs, it is important to keep in mind what device is powering the circuit.

Read our technical note to understand why customers specify certain analog inputs and what benefits they offer the customer.
