PFAS-Free Turnout Gear Outer Shell Availability Update

Certain outer shell fabrics with FreeFAS will be available as of September 1st, 2021. These TenCate Protective Fabrics’ outer shells with FreeFAS finish meet the NFPA 1971 requirements for performance.
In recent months, TenCate has transitioned to additional outer shell fabrics with the new FreeFAS Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating.
As of September 1st, the following outer shell fabrics with FreeFAS are now available for quote and order:
- Advance™ PCA (Black)
- Advance™ (Yellow, Tan, Gold)
- AGILITY™ (Light Gold, Dark Gold, Black Gold)
- PBI® PEAK 5 (Gold, Black)
As our inventory of current fabric is depleted, MSA will begin to use outer shell fabrics with FreeFAS for all Globe orders, as necessary. Existing orders may be affected and will be converted to the new outer shell material at no additional cost. Please refer to your acknowledgement from Globe Customer Service to see if your order is affected.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has certified that these outer shells with TenCate Protective Fabrics’ FreeFAS finish meet the NFPA 1971 requirements for performance. Additional information on TenCate Protective Fabrics’ FreeFAS can be found here.
