As you are probably already aware, the global market for electronic components is going through an unprecedented and tumultuous period.  Virtually all industries have been impacted to some degree and MSA has not been immune to this.  Most recently, we received news from our supplier that a crucial component which is required to produce our ALTAIR 5X Color Display has suddenly and unexpectedly become unavailable.

Due to the uniqueness and criticality of this component, MSA has made the immediate decision to notify the our customers of the following:

• The color display version of the ALTAIR 5X is discontinued effective September 30, 2021
• The ALTAIR 5X PID, which currently is only available with a color display, is discontinued effective November 11, 2021.  It was previously estimated that this would occur in Q1 2022.
• The ALTAIR 5X PID, which currently is only available with a color display, will be replaced with a monochrome display version in the first quarter of 2022.
• All orders for the color display version of the ALTAIR 5X placed on or before September 30th will be honored.
• All orders for the ALTAIR 5X PID placed on or before November 11, 2021 will be honored.
  

There is no impact to the standard, monochrome display version of the ALTAIR 5X.
