About the Article:  The threat of potential air contaminants that can be inhaled or the risk of contact with dangerous substances that can be absorbed through the skin can prove hazardous whenever workers are over-exposed.  Because of this, permissable exposure limits (PELs) were established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to help protect employees who are operating in potentially hazardous work environments. This article explains how to calculate PELs and maintain compliance.
